The Puget Sound in Northwestern Washington is an inlet of the Pacific Ocean and part of the Salish Sea that runs south from the Strait of Juan de Fuca down to include all the water towards the major cities of Tacoma and Olympia. Hikes in this geological location combine a love for exploring woodsy trails with views of our beautiful water landscapes. Beach walks, trails high up on bluffs overlooking the sea and steep trails to generally snow free summits are just a sampling of what it has to offer.
My favorite places to stop post hike with friends are K Fresh, Soundbite Cider, Skagit Valley Food Co-op, Shambala Bistro and Bakery, Mammoth Burger Company, Front Street Grill, 3 Sister Market, Revolve Food and Wine, Razzi’s Pizzeria, Ghostfish Brewing Company, or just Pack A Cooler. You can learn more about these places in my Must Hike Must Eat Eating Out Guide.
Find out current conditions and as always, practice Leave No Trace. Pretty please.
