Jump to the recipe for Olive Oil and Sea Salt Dates…
This is a quick little dessert to make up on the trail that I tried this year on my trip on the Oregon PCT at the advice of my friend Anne who joins me on many of my hiking adventures like the Suiattle River Trail and the PCT in Washington this July. And I have been enjoying it ever since!
#medjooldates #oliveoil #seasalt
All you need is some medjool dates in a snack size ziploc, a few packets of olive oil and sea salt. It’s that easy. I carry my salt in a film canister (remember those?). The dessert is usually served warm or sauteed, so if you can leave the dates and oil on the outside of your pack to warm in the sun, it is enriches the experience.
What a decadent treat this was on the trail. Try it for yourself!
