Okay, seriously. I can’t be the only one!

Back in 2016, Gary and I found this little gem of a beach hike while escaping to the Washington Coast for Thanksgiving. A stop at a quaint thrift store in the town of Forks led to a beachcombing suggestion by the owners and it blew us away.

There were some many ocean gems and the tidepools were brimming with sealife. The unique black beach rock that makes the shore seem like something you might find in Hawaii. We could not get enough, we didn’t want to leave.

Then in 2023, I revisited in order to get the details so I could write up a requested hike guide description for Washington Trails Association. Along with a visit to Salt Creek and the Hoh Rainforest, it was the perfect getaway.

I find myself checking back on the website to see if anyone has gone and yet, my two trip reports are still the only ones on their site. Whaaaaaat??
So, I am writing this post in hopes that if you find yourself on the way to Neah Bay for Shi Shi Beach And Point of Arches, the Ozette Triangle or Cape Flattery or rounding the peninsula towards Ruby Beach, Rialto Beach or Forks, give this hike a chance. And then make a trip report at WTA!
And don’t forget to stop by Sunsets West Co-op for some nosh.

You can read more about my visits to Clallam Bay Spit here on Must Hike Must Eat or all the hike details on the WTA website!
