I think I’m just about caught up on trip reports!
So after completing the Lakeshore Trail and making it into the remote town of Stehekin, we decided on a second night up the Rainbow Loop Trail with a side trip up the Rainbow Creek Trail to Bench Creek just for fun. Well, not 100% fun because I earned myself a blister under my right big toe and shin splints but it’s all in the name of spending outdoors, right? Nevermind the hobbling when you get to stand next to this…
And we may have even capped the weekend off with yet another short jaunt up the Imus Creek Trail while waiting for the ferry to take us downlake to our car.
So here is the run down on our entire 3 day backpacking trip (48 hours). The total on trail is 29.9 miles with an additional roughly 4.75 miles of road walking to connect everything (can be shortened by using the shuttle bus). Look for an upcoming post about spending time in the town of Stehekin, my happy place. Here are the trip reports:
Rainbow Loop with Rainbow Creek Trail to Bench Creek
Well, that will be it on hikes for a few weeks (unless I sneak in a weekday hike) as we have an upcoming wedding (Gary’s daughter) next weekend. Oh wait, that is actually going to be a hike to Goat Peak Lookout where Gary and I ventured last fall because she and her fiancé loved our pictures so much. You can read about it here: So How Did I Spend My First Monday Without A Job?
