Why is checking something off your to-do list SO satisfying??
I am half way through summer having spent the first half out of the country (Greece and Canada but I will get to that later) and when I started summer vacation I had but a few things on my list to accomplish before it was time to head back to school.
And I can proudly say I knocked one off this week!
When I started the blog in January of 2016, I talked a lot about the places I would eat out with friends and family that would allow me to stick to my healthy eating goals at the time.
In February of 2016, I created a post listing out those places. When I would find new places, I often just added them to that post and let readers know. Sometimes I would write a separate post about one particular place but not often.
In December of 2020, I created a PDF of that list of establishments that newsletter subscribers could download along with a Google Maps link anyone could add to their phone. It was A LOT of work.
Well, needless to say, much has changed since 2020 and despite my piece meal changes to the original post some of the information was out of date, especially the PDF download. Not only were there restaurants no longer in business, quite a few new ones had popped up. I have also had more opportunity to visit places new to me on my travels.
Updating the post, map and PDF cohesively has been on my to-do list for quite awhile and this summer I pledged to get-er-done.
And WAHOOOO, I finally did.
Now, the work is not all done. I still have to go back and finish making sure that links to closed restaurants are not listed on previous pages and add new ones I enjoy. But for the most part, this task is complete.
For all my readers, please visit my Pacific Northwest Eating Out Guide and enjoy the food porn. For my newsletter subscribers, the link to the updated PDF will go out with the next newsletter. Not a newsletter subscriber yet? Just use the link below!

All though healthy food photos are making my hungry!! That restaurant project sounds like a great idea but a lot of work! It is good to have some recommendations when you are in a new place. I look forward to reading about your recent travels.
Such a great idea! I would love to do the research for you next time. LOL!
Ha! Maybe I should take submissions for places I haven’t been yet??
Thank you, Meg. Hopefully I can get some more writing done in the next few weeks but things might not be in order. The weather is so nice, it is hard not be outside enjoying it!
Yes!!
