If you have been here for awhile, you know there was a time when recipes came out regularly. When I first started a paleo lifestyle (2012) and this blog (2016), there were few resources for gluten free, let alone paleo.
Now, it is not only easier to find foods and products at the store that allow one to keep their health goals or avoid allergens but recipes abound online. It might still be slim pickings for paleo specific but it isn’t hard to find something if you need it. Paleo granola, paleo backpacking meals, etc.
But that isn’t the only reason you will find recipes coming out infrequency here.
One, I am finding myself much more lazy when it comes to cooking and eating. I am making the same things over and over or with a tweak or two that can’t be considered a new creation. I could eat coleslaw every day. There is no shortage of variation of Get Lucky Egg Muffins or toppings to add to gari based meals. I don’t go on long trips like I used to so I can just eat the same 2-3 things on repeat weekend trips. Right now, that looks like this:
In addition, I just don’t have the motivation for keeping track of measurements or taking pictures that I did when I first started. I am happy with just posting a picture or recipe on Instagram and calling it good.
Coming up with new recipes is a creative outlet and these days, I am finding that in other ways like knitting.
I am not saying there won’t ever be recipes posted again, I definitely have a few in mind. For example, I made the best sweet and sour chicken backpacking meal years ago and have enjoyed it on several trips. But can I replicate it in such a way that others can make it? Not yet.
And I am in love with a rhubarb chutney that goes well with sweet potato, hopefully I can get that one dialed in enough to share.
In the meantime, don’t forget you can check out the 80+ recipes already on the blog. There is sure to be something to tide you over, just like me.

I am trying to eat more healthy, but it is hard! Planning meals and buying food involves weighing factors such as cost, health, packaging, and convenience. Often they are mutually exclusive. I will check out your recipes to see if something catches my interest.
It is hard! Or at least it takes dedication. It doesn’t happen on accident for sure. If looking for a recipe, my Rosemary Cranberry Pecans are a sure winner as well as any of the egg muffins.
