I picked up a pair of secondhand snowshoes six years ago and we never got enough snow to use them. Since then, I have spent quite a bit of time out on snowy roads and slopes to make up for it!
Almost any snowed over road is good for an easy snowshoe and groomed trails near the ski resorts and passes usually offer routes for almost any ability. You can check out my post, 11 Things I have Learned About Snowshoeing, for tips on making the most of your snowshoe trip. I also like the books, Snowshoe Routes Washington and Snowshoe Routes of Oregon, for finding new places to go!
Find out current conditions and as always, practice Leave No Trace. Pretty please.
