My first experiences hiking in Oregon have been the coastline and the iconic Multnomah Falls. Ever since traveling the Oregon section of the Pacific Crest Trail, I have found myself visiting more and more. Not only does it have the most amazing beaches with their dark lava cliffs, foamy white waves and expansive sand dunes, it has some pretty amazing mountains, too. Here are some of my adventures so far in the state with what I think has the best state motto: Alis volat propriis (She Flies With Her Own Wings). For hikes in Oregon but on the Columbia Gorge, visit my Southwest Washington & Columbia Gorge page.
My favorite places to stop post hike in Oregon with friends are Dick’s Primal Burger, Back To Eden Bakery, Kyra’s Bakery, Bierly Brewing Company, Ten Depot Cafe, Spork, The Brown Owl, or just Pack A Cooler. You can learn more about these places in my Must Hike Must Eat Eating Out Guide.
Find out current conditions and as always, practice Leave No Trace. Pretty please.
